These terms

These terms and conditions govern your use of jbalaji.com and any enquiry, quotation or order that starts through it. By using this website you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

“We”, “us” and “our” mean J Balaji Group and its companies: J Balaji Enterprise, J Balaji Roofing Industries Limited and J Balaji Industries Limited · Bamboo Garden Hotel, all of the Greater Banjul Area, The Gambia.

Using this website

You may browse the site, save catalogue lists and contact us for your own business or personal purposes. You may not:

• copy, republish or resell our photographs, product listings or written content without our written permission;
• use the site in a way that damages it, interferes with other visitors or breaches Gambian law;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or the systems behind it;
• collect information from the site automatically (scraping) without our written consent.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. We aim to keep it available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access.

Products, images and availability

We work hard to describe our furniture, doors, roofing, tiles, hardware and vehicles accurately. Even so, photographs are illustrative: colours, grains, finishes and dimensions can vary between batches and can look different on different screens. Timber, granite and marble are natural materials and no two pieces are identical.

Listing an item on this site is an invitation to enquire, not an offer to sell. Stock moves quickly and availability is confirmed only when we confirm your order.

Prices and quotations

Prices are quoted in Gambian Dalasi (GMD) unless we state otherwise, and are confirmed in a written quotation from the relevant company. Unless the quotation says something different, it is valid for the period stated on it and is subject to stock being available at the time you accept it.

Prices for imported goods can be affected by exchange rates, freight and duty. If a price shown anywhere on this site is obviously wrong, we may correct it before accepting your order.

Enquiries, orders and payment

Sending an enquiry through the form, WhatsApp or e-mail does not create a contract. A contract is formed only when we confirm your order in writing, or when payment or a deposit is accepted at our counter.

• Custom, made-to-order and special-import items normally require a deposit before work begins.
• Deposits on custom orders are not refundable once materials have been cut or an order has been placed with the manufacturer.
• Goods remain our property until they have been paid for in full.
• Please check your quotation carefully — sizes, colours, finishes and quantities are taken from what you confirm.

Delivery and installation

Delivery within the Greater Banjul Area and up-country can be arranged, and charges are set out in your quotation. Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith; they depend on stock, shipping and site access, and are not guaranteed times.

Please inspect goods on delivery and note any visible damage or shortage on the delivery paperwork straight away. Where installation is included, the site must be ready and accessible on the agreed date; if it is not, an additional visit may be chargeable.

Warranty, returns and after-sales

Manufactured and imported products carry the warranty offered by their manufacturer, and we will help you make a claim under it. This does not affect any rights you have under Gambian law.

• Tell us about faults as soon as you notice them, with your invoice number and photographs where possible.
• Warranty does not cover normal wear, accidental damage, misuse, poor storage, unauthorised repair, or damage caused by installation carried out by others.
• Custom-made, cut-to-size and special-order items cannot be returned because you changed your mind.
• Paints, adhesives and similar goods must be stored and applied according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Careers and applications

Information you send us about a job application is used only to consider you for work with the group and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Please do not send original documents — copies are enough. We cannot guarantee a reply to every application.

Hotel and hospitality bookings

Bookings at Bamboo Garden Hotel and any hospitality service are subject to the rates, deposit and cancellation terms confirmed with you at the time of booking, which apply in addition to these terms.

Our content and trade marks

The design of this website, its text, photographs, product listings and the J Balaji name and logo belong to J Balaji Group or are used with permission. Manufacturer names and marks shown on the site — including Piaggio and Hiroshima — belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the products we supply.

Translated pages

This site can be displayed in French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese using an automatic translation service. Machine translation is convenient but not always exact, and we are not responsible for errors it introduces. Where a translated page differs from the English one, the English version prevails.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another website or service, we do so for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or terms.

Liability

The website and its content are provided as they are. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of data arising from use of this website, or from reliance on information published here rather than on a written quotation or invoice.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Gambian law. Our liability in connection with any goods we supply is limited to the value of those goods.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from goods and services we supply, are governed by the laws of The Gambia, and the courts of The Gambia have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you use the site is the one that applies, and the date above shows when it was last updated.
